Fireworks 8 is a multi-lingual application that can display the user interface for all supported
languages without re-installing the application. Instructions for making the user interface appear
in a different language are located in the Fireworks 8 application folder on your hard drive. Please
see the HTML file  Changing Languages on Macintosh  or  Changing Languages on Windows. 
Completed PNG examples for the tutorials
If you installed Fireworks 8 from the CD, some of the completed PNG examples for the tutorials are
located on the CD. These files are for reference and are in addition to the tutorial assets included
with the installer.
CSS pop-up menus do not display correctly in Internet Explorer 5
Fireworks CSS pop-up menus may have display or usability issues when viewed in Internet Explorer 5
browsers. If you intend on using CSS pop-up menus generated in Fireworks 8, it is recommended that
you suggest users view these with a newer version of Internet Explorer or another browser that
supports CSS pop-up menus.
Color edits made to CSS pop-up menus in Dreamweaver can be lost when round-tripped with Fireworks 8
If you create CSS pop-up menus in Fireworks 8 and insert them into your pages with Dreamweaver, any
future edits made to the pop-up menus should be done in Fireworks with roundtrip editing, not in
Dreamweaver. If you edit these menus in Dreamweaver and then edit them in Fireworks, you will lose
all your previous edits.
Pressure-sensitive tablets: Stroke does not match preview
Under some conditions when using a pressure-sensitive tablet stylus, the resulting stroke does not
match the preview drawn. To avoid this situation, adjust the precision option in the Property
inspector to a larger setting such as 10. This will increase the number of points in the line you
create and produce a stroke that correctly reflects the movement of the stylus.
WINDOWS-SPECIFIC ISSUES
Changing file association from Fireworks 8 to another application
The Fireworks installer allows you to set Fireworks as the default editing/viewing application for
several graphic file types. If you find that you no longer wish to use Fireworks 8 and the default
editor/browser for a file type, do the following to reset the file association to another
application:
   1. Locate a file on your machine with the file type/extension you wish to associate with another
application. Right click on the file in Windows Explorer and choose Properties.
   2. Look for the File Type section. Click the Change... button next to the Open with: option. You
will be presented with the application selection list.
   3. Select the application from the list that you want as the default editor/viewer for the
selected file type. Click the OK button to complete the process.
